KPU - Electrical

The Electrical program is offered at Howe Sound Secondary in partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). Upon graduating from the program, students will earn their Level 1 technical training credits. Classes are held Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm and are taught by Mr. Chris Weaver, a Red Seal Electrician.

 

The program has a strict attendance policy, and students are expected to arrive on time and be ready to work every day. Instruction is divided between classroom study and shop work. All students must provide their own CSA-approved steel-toed boots.

 

Application Process:

  1. Complete the Application FormYou must be signed into your school Google account to access the form.
  2. Email an updated resume to the Career Program Office at HSS ([email protected]).

The Career Program Office will contact applicants for an interview. Once accepted, students must attend an information session on January 21st to complete the KPU registration forms and pay a course materials fee of $500.

 

SD48 covers the tuition for the program, saving each student approximately $3,800, thanks to course funding and youth training grants from SkilledTradesBC.
