Youth Work in Trades
What It Is:
The Youth Work in Trades program offers up to four high school courses for students who are working or have worked in a trade regulated by SkilledTradesBC (formerly ITA BC).

- May qualify for a $1,000 Youth Work in Trades Scholarship.
Scholarship Opportunity: $1,000
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Be registered as an apprentice through the Langley School District.
- Graduate with a Dogwood Diploma or Adult Dogwood.
- Complete all four Youth Work in Trades courses.
- Earn a C+ average or better in their Grade 12 courses.
- Complete 900 hours of work-based training reported to SkilledTradesBC by August 31 of the award deadline year (determined by the student's birthdate).
Student Requirements:
- Obtain parent/guardian permission.
- Be 15–19 years old.
- Be currently working or have worked in one of the 100 trades regulated by SkilledTradesBC.
